How to Help Your Children Cope with Tragedy

2018 is just nine weeks old, and we have already witnessed 12 school shootings across the country, spanning from middle school to college. The last shooting took place just a few days ago on the campus of Central Michigan University where two people were shot to death in the school dormitory. View the list from CNN.
These event have undoubtedly left all of us uneasy. Our children are affected, so it is important that we are able to recognize and them cope with tragedy. MSDE forwarded MHSA a report from the National Association of Elementary School Principals that discusses how to recognize and help a child cope with tragedy.
