National Bike Safety Month

May is National Bike Safety Month! Did you know that 1n average of 247 traumatic brain injury deaths and 140,000 head injuries among children and adolescents younger than 20 years are related to bicycle crashes each year in the United States? Bike Safety is very important for not only your child but you, as well!


Bike Safety includes:

  • Wear a helmet every time you get onto a bike!

  • Make sure your bike fits you.

  • Keep both hands on the handlebars.

  • Ride one person per seat and stay seated.

  • If carrying items, use a backpack or basket on the front of your bike.

  • Wear reflective gear and bright clothing.

  • Follow the rules of the road.
